1991 Carolina Mudcats AA Southern League

Five of these 16 players from the Carolina Mudcats made it to the bigs, however briefly, fulfilling their dreams.

Paul Miller would go on to debut with the Pirates July 30, 1991 at 26 years of age. He would pitch a total of 26.1 innings over 10 games in the show.

Mandy Romero would go on to debut with the Padres July 15, 1997. His story reminds one of the fictional Crash Davis as Mandy, also a catcher, played minor league ball until the age of 36 while having brief stints with the Padres, Red Sox, and Rockies. He smashed 133 minor league home runs.

Lee Hancock would go on to debut with the Pirates September 3, 1995 and pitched 14 innings in 11 games with an ERA of 1.93.

Stan Fansler and Mike Roesler had already made it to the show prior to 1991, never to return.
