Randy Johnson, Cy Young Award Winner, Hall of Fame Member

Randy Johnson leads all Baseball Hall of Fame pitchers with a career K/9 rate of 10.61. Of the 76 pitchers in the Baseball Hall of Fame, only Johnson and Pedro Martinez finished their careers with a double digit K/9 rate; a feat made more impressive by the fact that the average career K/9 rate for Hall of Fame pitchers is just 5.085. Johnson led American League pitchers in strikeouts in 4 of 10 full seasons on the junior circuit, and led National League pitchers in strikeouts in 5 of 10 full seasons on the senior circuit. Johnson dominated the National League during his 6 years with the Arizona Diamondbacks (1999-2004) winning 4 of his 5 Cy Young Awards, leading the league in strikeouts 4 years, and ERA 3 years. On May 18, 2004, Johnson pitched a perfect game vs. the Atlanta Braves and struck out 13 of the 27 batters he faced (video). His 4,875 career strikeouts is second only to Nolan Ryan’s 5,714.

Here is a list of the Randy Johnson cards that I currently have in inventory. Send an email message to BigBubbo@yahoo.com about any cards you wish to purchase or talk trade. I personally collect Bob Gibson, Roberto Clemente, Tom Seaver, St. Louis Cardinals – especially from the 60’s, 1969 and 1986 New York Mets, and 1985 Kansas City Royals.
